Our installation ceremony occurred on June 15, 2025 at Old Trinity Church on a beautiful summer day. It began with a well-attended Eucharist featuring several specially crafted prayers, psalm, poem and sermon from our extensive research.

Diane Cooney wrote a special poem entitled “If Jenny and Sias Could Speak.”  The psalm for the day was written by Alice Ennis. Roberta Hayes wrote the Collect, and the team all took part in the Prayers of the People. And the music was out of this world! Thank you to our musicians and choir for so many high notes! It takes a holy village!

David Schwarzkopf delivered a wonderful sermon!

The installation immediately followed the service. About 60 folks were there. The gathered community was inspiring and…

the music was sublime!

Martha Schwarzkopf read the research summary from the wider team project, which she compiled and wrote.

Among our special guests was Pat Wilson Pheanious who is the new Executive Director of the Witness Stone Project. Her remarks were truly wonderful and thought provoking. And we are so grateful to have had her in our midst!
And some additional special guests in our midst included historian Donna Dufresne, President of the local NAACP, Leah Ralls and our own Sue Moon, among others!
First selectman Austin Tanner joined us!
