Connecting Through History: Unveiling Trinity Episcopal’s Legacy

Founded in 1771 on Church Street in Brooklyn, CT, our church has a legacy that spans over two and a half centuries. It proudly holds the distinction of being the oldest active Episcopal Church in the state. Our annual Independence Day service and the cherished Lessons and Carols service during the December holiday season keep our heritage alive.

The church building itself, standing since 1866, is a testament to the enduring power of faith. It has witnessed the devotion of generations, from the enslaved individuals who labored to build it to the clergy, parishioners, and families who found solace and community within its walls.

Our commitment to community worship, formation across all ages, prayer, and pastoral care has allowed us to remain steadfast for more than 150 years. We continuously seek to connect and contribute to the world around us, embracing God’s children and Creation in all its forms.

Stay tuned for further updates from our history team as we continue to unearth the profound stories that have shaped Trinity Church. Our past fuels our present, guiding us as we embrace our calling to serve and love one another.

Hi Jennifer. I’m so sorry for any confusion, and that you missed the service. The service was on Saturday , December 21st. We had a great turnout, but it was soooooo cold. Maybe we will see you for our salute to American music in July. Also, I’m not sure where you saw it listed on the 28th. But please let us know if we mis-listed the date somewhere. Thanks for being in touch. Happy New Year!
